Provocative front cover photographs
set a new tone for Sensations Magazine, with a shift to theme issues that would carry it into the

21st century

2001

New objectives for the new century:
graphic redesign and quarterly publication

On return from the National Tour, we welcomed the deluge of poetry submissions that resulted from handing out flyers from city to city, all with the same submission deadline:  the date of our return to New Jersey.  The generally excellent quality of the material warranted a major decision:  we would publish quarterly in 2001, and continue doing so until either purchase of issues waned or we were exhausted, whichever came first.  (As it turned out, they came simultaneously, by the end of 2005.)

In our first major graphic redesign since 1995, we partnered with internationally acclaimed, award-winning, and/or talented up-and-coming photographers to create a new look for the front covers of Sensations Magazine, starting in Spring 2001.  Response was favorable.

From the striking "Medieval" issue to the provocative "Sexual Identity in the New Millennium" issue, from the startling cover of the "Science Fiction" issue to the dramatic "Mystery" issue, 2001 marked another banner year for Sensations Magazine - blending our previously published writers with many new writers, who were introduced to us during our 2000 National Tour.

Here are some highlights from 2001, our first year since 1997 as a literary quarterly:

Spring 2001 "Medieval" issue, featuring cover photography by Cheryl Korn
Summer 2001 "Sexual Identity in the New Millennium" issue, featuring cover photography by Simen Johan
Fall 2001 "Science Fiction" issue, featuring cover photography by Simen Johan
Winter 2001 "Mystery" issue, featuring cover photography by Christopher Coppola
